Unidentified attackers set off three explosions in downtown Thessaloniki on Tuesday night at the political offices of Alternate Environment Minister Stavros Kalafatis and New Democracy party MPs Costas Gioulekas and George Orfanos. The attacks only caused material damage, and luckily no injuries were reported.

According to reports, the attackers apparently placed the explosive devices at the entrances of the offices and the explosions occurred almost simultaneously shortly before 8 in the evening.

Gioulekas said that at the time of the explosion a female employee was in the office who went on to the balcony and was then removed by firemen. Other reports said that a further two employees were removed in time from Kalafatis's office and an equal number from the office of Orfanos.
