A ski jumper from Greece? It sounds like a joke but it’s not! Nico Polychronidis is the first Greek athlete in the history of ski jumping. Born in Oberstdorf, Germany, in 1989 to a German mother and a Greek father, Polychronidis made his debut at the Ski-Jumping World Cup, held in Willingen on February 8-10. The athlete from the Ski Club of Drama then faced off at the World Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy and we expect to see him at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Good luck Nico and and jump high!
