Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, has vehemently denied allegations of having been recruited in the past as a secret agent of the Central Services for Combating Organized Crime. "This is complete nonsense!," Borisov fumed in an interview for Presa newspaper.

The emotional statement came in response to a leaked document released by the site for investigative journalism Bivol.bg on Sunday, which reveals that current Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, has been recruited in the past as a secret agent of the Central Services for Combatting Organized Crime, CSBOP.

Borisov's codename was Buddha.

"We have been helping the Interior Ministry on many occasions. I have collaborated with the services many times and will continue to do so. May be the Central Services for Combatting Organized Crime, CSBOP, considered the option of recruiting me and wrote a proposal. But after I refused they took me off their list," Borisov explained. The documents have leaked anonymously through Bivol's platform Balkanleaks, which is modeled after the famous WikiLeaks, and have been revealed for the very first time.

According to Borisov the documents were leaked by controversial MEP and leader of GORD party Slavi Binev in another effort to tarnish his image. "This document is released right now to distort the truth and present something positive as something very bad." He demanded that the authors of the site for investigative journalism publish not only proposal for recruitment, but the rejection of the proposal too.
