Woman's Body Found in Summer Home One Decade After Death

Authorities were shocked and dismayed when they uncovered the mummified body of a 43-year-old woman recently in her summer home on the island of Aigina more than ten years after her death! The body of Irini Xenou (born in 1959) was discovered when her neighbors decided to clean up the yard surrounding her home from the dead weeds and garbage that had accumulated there over the years.

The woman, who was single, and who had no siblings, had not been seen by her neighbors since 2002. Apparently she was an Athens resident and rented out her home in the Greek capital and moved to Aigina to live out the rest of her life.

After tiding up the yard, the neighbors decided to inspect the home and came upon a cement built door that was built in the house. When they finally broke the door with the assistance of police, the discovered the mummified corpse.

This is certainly a sad reality, and an example of a very apathetic, unfriendly and uncaring society.

What a pitiful world we have become.
