The probe, which is set to focus on whether Papakonstantinou removed the names of his three relatives from the controversial Lagarde list (containing the names of Greeks with Swiss bank accounts, believed to be tax evaders), has to be delivered to the House by February 25.
Meanwhile, judicial authorities who are continuing with their probe, granted an extension to an aide to former Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) chief Yiannis Diotis to prepare her testimony. According to reports, Diotis has said that Galateia Mane, a lawyer, helped him copy the list from a USB stick that he was given by Papakonstantinou to another flash drive in June 2011, adding that she then erased one of the memory sticks.
It appears that the USB stick Diotis received from Papakonstantinou was wiped clean, making it even more difficult for prosecutors to work out when it was doctored, nonetheless they are continuing with their investigation.
