Anti-Terrorism Squad Watching Over Papakostantinou Home

The home of former finance minister George Papakostantinou is currently being protected much in the way Embassies are. According to reports on Saturday, five police guards are stationed around his home 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The former Czar of the Greek economy might not be active in politics any longer, but the Ministry of Public Order and the Greek police recognize that at the moment he may very well be a prime target for possible attacks. This is the main reason why his home and family have been placed under the careful eye of Greece's anti-terrorism squad and the forces that are stationed there are especially trained to deal with dangerous situations. Interestingly a report on defencenet said that every single solitary corner in and around the area of Papakostantinou's home is not only well protected but it is being monitored much in the way the US Embassy in Athens is and from what the same report claims the guards that are stationed here, are present even when Papakostantinou is absent, and/or abroad. The only downfall to all of this of course is that the Greek people are forced to foot the bill.
