Cyprus Researcher Awarded With Marie Curie EU Grant

A research proposal by Cypriot Researcher Artemi Georgiou apparently ranked 13th out of a total of 912 submissions for funding in the EU. According to a University of Cyprus press release the project "Archaeological Investigations of the Extra - Urban and Urban Landscape in Eastern Mediterranean centers: A case - study of Palepaphos" has been awarded total funding of 100,000 euro for the period 2013 - 2017 by the Marie Curie Awards Career Integration Grants. The University was graded with 4.8/5 on its suitability to support the implementation of the project. In a period of crisis when disciplines such as archaeology are usually set aside achieving such a grant is a "huge success", the press release notes.
