A powerful explosion was reported at 4:00 am on Tuesday morning outside a building in the southern Athens suburb of Aspropyrgos housing the offices of the ultra-right Chryssi Avghi (Golden Dawn) party, causing extensive damage, according to a video report on SKAI channel. A separate report from the state news agency, which was dispatched later on in the day said that the perpetrators planted a makeshift explosive device at the main entrance of the two-storey building. A wall collapsed from the explosion and the door of the Chryssi Avghi office on the first floor was demolished. Damage was also reported in a shop housed in the building's basement as well as in other nearby shops. Police are investigating the area in order to collect evidence and remnants of the explosive device.
