Authorities announced that a small boat carrying 27 illegal immigrants from the Turkish coast, sank just off the island of Lesvos on Saturday. According to initial reports, the boat capsized about one mile off of Lesvos due to strong winds and from what police reports say, some 22 people drowned. Most of the illegal migrants were from Iraq. Until the moment of print, the Greek coast guard found 20 bodies in the sea and was continuing with its search for any remaining survivors.
