Former PASOK MP Christos Magoufis threw a MEGA-bomb at journalist Popi Tsapanidou on SKAI Channel on Wednesday morning, when he began to speak about the dillemas facing the PASOK party at the moment, When Popi asked him why how the socialists plan to gain their credibility back with the people since they were the ones that created "the system" in Greece, he paused and then blurted out several sentences that we are certain will become front-page news in the forthcoming days. He said that in the past he had characterized Simitis a "political dwarf" and then slowly revealed that Greece's economic downfall began years ago, by a specific gang which until today still holds the regins of this country.
"Mr. Simitis is responsible for the stock market scandal, as is (Mr. Yannos) Papantoniou. During the stock market scandal (in 2000) nearly 33 trillion drachmas were lost, 22 trillion (or 65 billion euros) of which were sent abroad!"
At this point Popi paused... and we can only conclude that someone was instructing her through her headphone to change the subject... AND QUICK.
Folks, do you understand what we are talking about? Try to link the above amount that he is referring to into liquidity, being stuffed into the suitcases of some cunning opportunists and exiting the COUNTRY! And all this at a time when the value of consumption-investment was infinitely less! We are talking about the headstone to (Greece's) development and production.
Check 47 minutes into the video... What he says is shocking BUT ALL TRUE!
"That was only one part, he added, the other was (the works from) the Olympic Games and then it was the swap deal (with Goldman Sachs)."
Interestingly, olympia.gr had a report about Magoufis' statements which were totally ignored by Tsapanidou. And the reason we say this is because she quickly changed the subject. And when he characterized him a "blackmailer" she suddenly raised her voice and asked to learn more about his future plans as a former deputy. (yeah... like we actually bought into that one Popi... give us a break!)
So there you have it folks. A full-fledged confession on why we are in the present state we are in today, and yet, not one person was punished for all these MEGA scandals. The culprits are still in Greece. Oh... and just so you know, we are not talking about politicians, because they couldn't execute crimes of this magnitutde by themselves. They needed stronger backs to do this. For instance, it is suspected that the banks fostered, and allowed for this to happen and then they probably gave away loans to civilians so that this looting (or party for criminals) can inflate and inflate and then explode.
It is the very same people who encouraged weary investors in 2000 to place their money on the stock market back claiming that it would reach 7.000 units, but of course we all know that shortly after they said this the market collapsed. These are the very same people who transferred millions abroad as administrators of bankrupt government agencies and these are the very same people who later became prime ministers and came in to complete their work with the murderous PSI ...
(Hmm.... Wasn't Evangelos the Large the mastermind behind the infamous PSI...? And didn't he succeed George Papakostantinou who had also began to work on the PSI and as we know is also another Simitis protege?)
Folks, the media giants in Greece supported this national crime (stock market crash of 2000), and instead of warning weary and naive investors about the drawbacks that the market could have, all you heard in circles at the time, were "hot tips" about a stock. Example: "Klonatex will rise to 500.000, the information is secure."
There is also the issue of the flow of money. For God's sake, suitcases full of money were leaving Greece for at least 9 years giving way to a score of offshore companies all over the globe!
Isn't there at least one prosecutor to launch an investigation into all of this? All they have to do is search on the boards of these companies, and they will uncover well-known names, and "historical" political families (hint... hint...). But like we said, these crimes remain unpunished.
Hate to break it to you all, but Magoufis, just like most other PASOK MPs, should not be glorified. He might now be strapped for money and looking to leave Greece in order to find work, but years ago he was a parlimentarian who did not have the MANHOOD to speak when he should have and especially in a time when he witnessed all these crimes going on in front of his own view. Exposing this information today is indeed enlightening, but imagine how useful it would of been years ago when tens of thousands of naive investors were selling their homes in order to invest in what they thought was a "hot tip"?
