The Greek Ambassador in Albania, Mr. Nikolaos Pazios, on Sunday was attacked by Albanian extremists. The Greek ambassador and his delegation were attacked with stones from members of the Albanian nationalist party puce Alliance Party of Kosovo with a little help from Albanian Chams.
According to a report on the aftonomi news site, the Ambassador was on his way to a cemetery where cemetery (where many Greek soldiers have been buried) in order to honor them for their sacrifice in the second world war but was prevented from doing so by Albanian extremists who began attacking his car and entourage. The Albanian extremists, who were gathered in a building near the cemetery, suddenly and without warning flooded the road and then attempted to halt the convoy of cars (with the Greek delegation) by firing stones and other items. No serious injuries were reported.
Police officials rushed to the scene, and isolated the Nazi extremists, and kept them at a safe distance while the Greek delegation honored the fallen soldiers of WWII. The special event was also attended by the relatives of the dead. Four buses travelled to the area from Greece early on Sunday in order to attend as well as to pay homage to these heroes of WWII.
In Athens, the Greek Foreign Ministry has not issued a statement as of yet.
It should be reiterated that the Puce Alliance party dreams of conquering Greek territories such as Corfu, Ioannina, Igoumenitsa, Preveza and even Arta (coincidentally most of these areas are blessed with natural gas and oil - keep that in mind).
Our opinion is not important. What amazes us though, as HellasFrappe, is that although they are always quick to act when it concerns a play, a word that was uttered on television, or a statement that was against communism or socialism, the extreme leftist parties of Greece, and generally all the "progressives" -as they term themselves- have never, EVER, spoken in defense of Greece, its national issues and especially ridiculous claims such as the above from these Albanian extremists.
