CLASH Between Shipyards Workers And Riot Police At Defence Ministry (VIDEOS)

Workers from the Skaramanga Shipyards forced their way into the area around the Greek Defence Ministry on Thursday in order to protest about not being paid for six months. The Chief of the Hellenic Armed Forces, Gen. Michalis Costarakos, failed to persuade them from blocking the entrance of the building, and so the riot police were called to the scene. The rioters demanded to see Greek Defense Minister Panos Panagiotopoulos, but reports claim that he was not at the ministry. Dozens of protestors were arrested, and are currently facing questioning at police headquarters. The protesters damaged the entrance to the Ministry as well as apparently broke several security cameras. (Article in Greek newsit)
