A small replica cannon apparently caused an explosion on a mock pirate ship off the island of Kos on Saturday, killing the boat’s captain and injuring about five passengers. Coastguard officials were quoted as saying that the cannon had been loaded with explosive powder, such as that found in fireworks. Two Dutch passengers, a Belgian and two German children were apparently injured in the blast.
