Strong Earthquake Hits Greece (VIDEO REPORT)

The earthquake struck during the early morning hours of Saturday at 8 km from Kiato (pop. 10,032), in Corinth. -Distance to Athens was 85 km.- The Greek Institute of Geodynamics reports a Magnitude of M4.9 at a depth of 18 km, a huge difference in strength versus the EMSC data. The very shallow hypocenter makes this earthquake moderately dangerous. Magnitudes are varying from 5.6 (EMSC) to 5.1 (USGS). Even a M5.1 is still generating a moderate shaking in Greece. As we mostly trust the local data provider (most instruments installed close to the epicenter), earthquake-report.com calls this earthquake harmless for serious damage and injuries.
