Vicky Stamatis, the wife of Akis Tsochatzopoulos (former PASOK Defence Minister -who is pending trial for accusations on accepting millions of euros in kickbacks from defense contracts) was rushed to the hospital late on Sunday night after authorities at Korydallos prison discovered that she had attempted to commit suicide. Stamatis was taken to the Thriasio Hospital where it was uncovered that she tried to kill herself by swallowing pills. Her health is out of danger and she is presently in recovery.
