Tsipras Says SYRIZA To Remain In Opposition

In statements after meeting New Democracy president Antonis Samaras on Monday, Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) leader Alexis Tsipras made it clear that he does not intend to join a coalition government led by ND, but instead stressed that SYRIZA will be an "active and responsible" main opposition party. He also made it clear, at the end of his statements, that his party will not accept an exploratory mandate to try and form a government, if he is contacted by the president of the republic at the end of the day, but he will respect the voters' desires and their choice for a pro-bailout Greek government.
