Mobilisations in Achaia four years after big earthquake

Mobilisations were scheduled in western Achaia, in the Peloponnese, on Friday on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the disastrous earthquake that took place on June 8, 2008. The municipality of Western Achaia on Friday shut down all services, while merchants closed their shops for two hours in protest to the state because, as they claim, their region has been abandoned. Agencies are demanding that their region be included in the reconstruction program, that aid is granted to earthquake victims and the decision on the repayment of loans for businesses that received earthquake loans to be extended, etc.
