Even though there was no confirmed reports about a break-in, police officials on Kos ordered an urgent Sworn Administrative Inquiry (EDE) into the circumstances of "missing" weaponry, reports said late on Saturday night. According to a report from the "Rhodian" news site, four G3A3 rifles and their cartridges (identical to those used by the Greek army) as well as two UZI sub machine guns with their cartridges and two MP-5 sub machine guns with four cartridges are now missing from the police station's warehouse. The officer responsible for the warehouse noticed that the locks on the doors where the weaponry was kept were different from those he had installed and therefore he decided to make a check only to uncover that the specific weapons had been stolen. Authorities are describing the case as very serious.
