Cruelty in all its glory. The Hellenic Animal Welfare Society submitted a petition to the Athens Prosecution which calls for the immediate intervention of the state to end the brutal killings of stray animals in the center of Athens by illegal immigrants. Reports in Athens said that the Greek Animal Welfare Society received serious complaints about this disgusting occurrence, and massed together enough evidence -which includes gruesome photographs of the slaughterings of dogs, as well as how they are being consumed by the illegal immigrant community -.
Unfortunately this is not new news... The Greek Animal Welfare Society had raised the issue several months ago but the mainstream media totally ignored their plea. Fortunately Internet users did not and they helped the Welfare Society to collect all the evidence it needed in order to petition the case to the state.
Aside from the potential fatal dangers of vitamin poisoning from consuming dog or cat meat, there is also the fear of the transmission of rabies to humans .

Editor's Note: Some cultures view the consumption of dog meat to be a part of their traditional cuisine, while others consider consumption of dog to be inappropriate and offensive. Indeed, eating dog is forbidden under Jewish and Islamic dietary laws, as dogs are considered to be ritually unclean in these two faiths but in a deep economic crisis plagued by a flood of hundreds of thousands illegal immigrants... anything is possible. Besides... drinking is forbidden by the Islamic faith, but Heineken is making a lot of money in the center of Athens.
