SHOCKING. The Greek government has totally lost its sense of logic. It is trying to milk money from the people from every nook and cranny. Instead of taxing the rich, they are coming down harder on the poor and from what was reported, they have even attempted to seize the home of a victim of the 2007 Peloponnese fires because he made the mistake of receiving a 3,000 euro in aid because the fire burned his home!
It is true. The government has apparently asked the victims of the 2007 fires in the Peloponnese to give back the 3,000 euros that the former government had given them as emergency relief for the trauma they endured during those traumatic and devastating fires.
According to a report on Ionia FM which was dispatched by olympia, many of the victims, who literally abandoned their homes and villages because they were burned to a crisp by the raging fires are now being asked to return the small compensation that the former government of Costas Karamanlis gave to them as aid. And from what the report claims, the victims are being dragged to court to cough up the money.
One such victim, Mr. Panagiotis Tsafas from the village of Sopi Olenis shockingly said that a bailiff proceeded to seize his home because he had received this small compensation.
This is sickening and shocking. Shame on the government of Lucas Papademos and the Troika!
