Greek Wins Italy's MasterChef (VIDEO)

Although the name Spyros Theodoridis is totally unknown in Greece, and throughout the Greek Omogenia, but in Italy he has become a household name! Or at least he was the "yummy" talk of the town this past week when he won the title of the First Italian MasterChef. Theodoridis won a whopping 100,000 euro prize and told reporters right after the reality show ended that he will soon release a cooking book.

The boy next door look, the nerdy glasses, the clean smile and the ability to actually be clumsy and make a mess of the kitchen quickly allowed him to became a favorite by the viewing audience.

Spyros apparently said at the beginning of the show that he learned how to cook Italian food by studying magazines! This 37-year old Athenian born chef, who now lives in Modena, Italy, has an enviable bevy of fans. On Facebook there are hundreds who follow him and comment and/or advise him on his recipes. He even made headlines in one of Italy's largest newspapers today "La Repubblica" because he is so well-liked by the general masses. The newspaper said that "Even those who do not how to boil eggs feel inspired by the boy next door who brings enthusiasm to the kitchen". Bravo Spyro!
