The Hurriyet newspaper said today that Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is “very well” following his Nov. 26 surgery and continues to rest on the insistence of his aides even though he wishes to return to work.

Speaking to reporters Health Minister Recep Akdağ said that there was nothing to worry about. “The prime minister’s state of health is very well. There is nothing to worry about,” Akdağ said at a conference in Ankara Dec. 8.

Meanwhile, in Today's Zaman Professor Mehmet Füzün, one of Turkey's most prominent surgeons and rector of 9 Eylül University, who was among doctors who performed laparoscopic surgery on Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan late last month, has said polyps found in Erdoğan's intestinal tract are not malignant.

The doctor spoke to local news portal egedesonsöz.com and shared some details with regards to Erdoğan's much-discussed operation.
