Speaking on the "Mega Savvato-Kyriako" news show on MEGA Channel this morning PASOK Minister of Development Michalis Chrisohoides lased out a George Papandreou while he said that PASOK's popularity has dropped because it has lost its credibility with the people and with its foreign allies as well. Chrisohoides who wants to succeed Papandreou in the party leadership said that the debate on the succession in PASOK should have already opened and closed. He said the party must elect a new leader before the upcoming national elections. Papandreou cannot represent the party any longer, said the Minister. "If a leader cannot essentially represent the people, then he must step down". He said that PASOK led the country to become poor, suffer a deep recession and we were all nationally "humiliated" while it also destroyed the state as well. Chrisohoides noted that obviously the leader is most responsible, but all the members of PASOK are as equally responsible for the present state of the economy because "we are all ideologically nude and were not politically ready" for all of this.
