The problem that the Turkish Army is facing, and the climate in the neighbouring country, following Ankara’s successive arrests of high ranked army officers is clearly displayed via the words of Admiral Kadir Sagdic, who according to reports was arrested on charges of conspiracy and participation in the “Sledgehammer” case. Instead of contemplating his defence, he found yet another chance to blame Greece for the whole mess.
During his hearing, Sagdic astonishingly said that most of the leaders of the Navy were arrested and added that he had read about that in the newspapers. Even Greece, he added, which is on the verge of bankruptcy, took courage from all the fuss that is going on in Turkey with these arrests so it can do underwater surveys and to explore its mineral wealth with Cyprus.
(Mr. Sagdic…. Get a life!)
