Thessaloniki police arrested early Friday a 28-year-old Iraqi, a 29-year-old Albanian, a 25-year-old Romanian and a 33-year-old Syrian, suspected to be members of an international human trafficking ring, the state news agency said on Friday.
A police operation took place near Thessaloniki where the suspects arrived with two cars and a van in order to collect and transport to Athens 17 illegal migrants -- five men, six women and six children -- from Afghanistan.
The investigation revealed that the illegal migrants had paid 300 euros each for their illegal entrance and transportation from the Evros border to Thessaloniki
