Much in the way of the “300” soldiers of Sparta, a new protest by a group called the indignant Spartans are planning a symbolic march from Sparta to Athens in the next few days, in the framework of drawing global attention to the present political and economic crises that is plaguing Greece. The starting point of their pilgrimage, which will mostly be conducted on foot in the same fashion as their ancestors, is scheduled to start at the statue of Leonidas in the city of Sparta on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 20:00 with a planned arrival in Athens’ Syntagma Square by Wednesday, June 22 where they will join their voices with the Athens Syntagma protesters.
Hellasfrappe will be following this story! Good luck my fellow Spartans!
