The circumstances under which a young couple ended up in the Kifissos River near Agia Anni in Renti on Tuesday morning are indeed a mystery. A couple, consisting of a foreign national as well as Greek woman were injured and after being recovered the two were taken to local hospital.
Emergency services were contacted right away as soon as witnesses noticed the couples. As such, four fire brigade vehicles with 12 firefighters were called to the scene along with several ambulances.
Authorities are perplexed how the couple ended up in the river, since their motorbike was parked nearby, Also, there was no evidence of traffic incidents. An investigation is underway to determine the causes of this mysterious accident.
