For a second time, the Greek Court of Audits ruled against a grant of 7.0-million euros for the refurbishment of the Panathinaikos FC stadium in Central Athens, calling it illegal. The grant was apparently approved by the previous Attica Region authority under Giannis Sgouros (hand selected by the previous George Papandreou government). After examining the contract, the court agreed with the previous ruling which had found it was contrary to the public interest and violated the principle of cost-efficiency.
