Looks like Greece is set for a heatwave with temperatures soaring past 41 degrees Celsius (or 105 Fahrenheit) over the next few days. The General Secretariat of Civil Protection and Ministry of Health have issued warnings, urging all those who are especially vulnerable to the heat – babies, young children, the elderly, people suffering from chronic diseases etc – to avoid strenuous activities in the sun, to keep hydrated, to wear a hat, stay indoors and/or visit air-conditioned facilities.
The weather will eventually begin to cool down on Saturday when northerly winds will begin to get stronger, causing the temperature to drop up to ten degrees in northern parts of the country, and there is even a possibility of thunderstorms.
