UNESCO Adds Area Of Pelion to its Geo Routes (VIDEO)

Central Pelion in Greece was included as a new cultural destination at Geo Routes Cultural Heritage Journeys under the auspices of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO. Pelion is the 26th new destination in Greece that is included on the list of experiential cultural and environment journeys that throw a spotlight on unspoiled (and yet to be discovered) areas of Greece.

And why wouldn't they. Due to its easy access, the area of Pelion is considered as a favorite year-round destination that offers visitors both natural beauty, high cuisine and a rich cultural heritage from myths, legends and traditions.

The first journey that has already been launched is focused on Central Pelion – specifically on the village of Makrinitsa, Agios Georgios Nilias, Pinakates, Vyzitsa and Milies. Other highlights of this unique journey also include the Archaeological Museum and the old Brickworks factory museum in the city of Volos, just a hop away from Pelion.

Keep in mind that there are several three-day journeys available in the region of Magnesia and Mt. Pelion. For more information about Geo Routes Cultural Heritage Journeys, visit (www.geo-routes.com)
