Ex ND Cadres Join Forces In New Political Party

The "Union for the Country and the People" is the name of a new political party that is headed by the independent deputy and former parliament president Vyron Polydoras.

Polydoras was recently expelled from the New Democracy parliamentary group for voting against the party line. On Thursday the president of Nea Mera, Mr. Christos Zois, who is another former MP of ND officially launched the new political group at a press conference that was held at the offices of the Athens' journalists union in central Athens. Polydoras headed the endeavour and Nea Mera is apparently now going to be part of the political group as a distinct political party.
