New Democracy Challenges SYRIZA to Disassociate Itself From Terrorism

New Democracy strongly criticized the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) on its stance on the escape of November 17 terrorist group member Christodoulos Xiros, who was on leave from jail when he disappeared earlier this week.
"SYRIZA's positions and relations with terrorism are known. Some of the senior representatives of the party remain central witnesses and defense lawyers of November 17 murderers", according to the announcement.
"The Greek society and all Europe expect that main opposition leader Alexis Tsipras will disassociate the party from terrorism and he must do it today. Otherwise, he will confirm that it coincides perfectly with it," the announcement added.
SYRIZA countercharges New Democracy with 'lack of seriousness'

An announcement released by SYRIZA, responding to the ruling's party criticism regarding its attitude towards terrorism and the support provided to SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras by foreign agents, states, "Where seriousness ends, the political reasoning of New Democracy (ND) starts".

SYRIZA said that comments by ND's press office go beyond its usual standards, by accusing everybody who supports SYRIZAin Greece as being terrorists, and now charging the party's supporters in Italy and the rest of Europe as well. "It is unfortunate that they are still governing - besides everything else, they are embarrassing Greece in Europe and everywhere."

Meanwhile, New Democracy MPDora Bakogiannis also expressed her belief that a terrorist attack is imminent, with the cooperation of both old and new terrorists.

Speaking to Vima FM, Bakogiannis was commenting about the dissapearance of Christodoulos Xiros and said it is only reasonable to assume that something bad is about to happen when Christodoulos' disappearance coincides with his brother and fellow convicted terrorist Savvas Xiro to hospital.
"I don't believe in coincidences. I think something is really under way and we should all be alert, to see what we can do to help the police catch them", the deputy stressed.
