Authorities On Alert Xiros & Maziotis Maybe Cooperating For Big Terrorist Attack

As the days roll by, authorities are gathering more and more information about the movements of Christodoulos Xiros, who was charged with six life sentences for carrying out killings as part of the notorious November 17 organization. A nationwide manhunt is currently underway by Greek authorities to locate Xiros who has been at large since he failed to return to prison on January 6 from a week-long furlough. In mid January he shockingly appeared in a video that was posted on the (Soros-backed and anarchist supported) Indymedia website vowing a return to bloody attacks. Authorities were immediately placed on alert over a possible new attack, and are rumored to be cooperating with foreign intelligence agencies towards his capture. Meanwhile, more and more information is coming to light about the dark scenario behind his escape as well as with his possible partnership with a new generation of terrorist organizations.

According to an article in the Sunday edition of "To Vima" Greece's anti-terrorist unit has confidential information in its disposal which shows that Christodoulos Xiros met with wanted fugitive (terrorist) Nikos Maziotis in the framework of preparing a hit.

Nikos Maziotis is apparently a member of the Revolutionary Struggle guerrilla group known for its attacks on Greek government buildings and the American embassy in Athens. It is designated as a terrorist group by the Greek government, EU and United States. The militant group borrows their ideological resume from various former terrorist groups in the region such as Revolutionary Organization 17 November (N17) and Revolutionary People’s Struggle (ELA). They espouse a staunch anti-globalization and anarchist ideology, participating in violent activities against the Greek security forces and major banking and business institutions, in order to force a revolution in the European nation. In addition, they have significant anti-Capitalist ideals and have often targeted U.S. interests, and attempt to encourage the disengagement of Greece in the US’ “War on Terror.” (Wikipedia)

In the past Maziotis also led the Conscientious Arsonists (CA) group, also known as Arsonists of Conscience which was a defunct anarchist Greek terrorist organization that firebombed 62 cars and bombed offices between June 1997 and June 1998. CA firebombed the cars of government officials, journalists, foreign companies, the offices of the press minister, the retired army officers' union, and in April 1998 it bombed the Central Board of Jewish Communities. Maziotis led the organization until he disbanded it in June 1998. (Wikipedia)

Maziotis, who the article says is suspected of being the mastermind behind the shooting at the residence of the German ambassador in Athens, is apparently forging some sort of cooperation with Xiros and it is this probability that has alarmed authorities. And for good reason! Such a marriage would unite the (well planned and notorious) "Revolutionary Struggle" group to the (long-range and ruthless hit) "November 17" organization.

In a separate report in the Eleftheros Typos newspaper we read that the anti-terrorism unit is also presently focused on three women whom they suspect helped Christodoulos Xiros to make his escape, and who could possibly even be covering up his whereabouts.

The women, says the article, are also suspected of belonging to the anarchist movement.

(No surprises here at all!)

The article further notes that two of these women apparently visited Christodoulos Xiros last summer, as well as members of the "Conspiracy of Cells of Fire 'guerilla group (at the Korydallos prison). They suspect that the women received encrypted notes (or instructions) from these jailed prisoners which were to be passed on to other terrorists and notorious criminals who are not yet in prison.

Xiros' escape has made international headlines and there are many forces that are presently helping the Greek government to locate his whereabouts. Just the other day a spokesman from the US State Department said American officials are in close contact with the Greek authorities in their effort to find the escaped terrorist. When asked if the US is actively involved in the investigation, she said that the US is prepared to provide support to the Greek government if needed.

Meanwhile, Two prosecutors could face charges of being negligent for their role in Xiros' being granted prison furloughs. An investigation has been launched into how the terrorist who was serving six life sentences was allowed out of Korydallos Prison by the Piraeus appeals prosecutor’s office has according to reports the evidence collected so far could be damning for the two prosecutors. The results of the probe have been passed on to the Supreme Court and according to a report in Kathimerini they are going to be examined this week.

And while this was going on, Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias refused to be drawn into a war of words with Justice Minister Charalambos Athanasiou over who was responsible for Xiros’s disappearance. “We all known what happened but now we’re looking to tomorrow,” said Dendias after Athanasiou suggested that the public order minister carried the bulk of the responsibility for Xiros going missing.

In the Greek capital and amid rising fears of a possible terrorist attack on a high-level target, authorities are enforcing security measures that are similar to those used for the Athens Olympics in 2004. Luckily for us, police patrols have been intensified around central landmarks and around hotels where foreign officials visiting Athens are staying, while a report in Kathimerini even said that bomb disposal experts have been instructed to search individuals and vehicles that appear suspicious near venues hosting foreign envoys.
