BREAKING - Prosecutors Point To Specific Direction In Karamanlis Assassination Attempt

credit defencenet
The investigation of the satanic plot to destabilize Greece politically, economically and socially, as well as to get rid of all of those who displayed resistance -assassination attempt against former conservative leader Costas Karamanlis- is beginning to point to specific directions, and judging from all the press reports on Tuesday Greek Prosecutors are now convinced on the why... As well as the who.

So much so that in order to confirm the evidence that they already have in their hands the Prosecution on Tuesday submitted a request to the Athens Magistrates Council which aims to link the wire-tapping scandal (Vodafone-case prosecution 2010) with the assassination attempt against Mr. Karamanlis (2006-2008, via a report by the Hellenic National Intelligence Service in 2009).

According to the dead lift that was conducted on the wire-tapping case, it was discovered that the phone tapping continued well into 2007 and did not end in 2005 as already known.

The Magistrate Council is now expected to issue a decree that will either link these two cases together, or allow them to continue being investigated separately.

Specifically, and according to a report on defencenet which covered the story as well, the investigation is now going to focus on the phone tapping case. It is basically going to turn its complete attention to the period after the April, 2004 elections when half (!!!) of the New Democracy government fell victim to wire-tapping by agents (!!!) who were based at the American Embassy in Athens, and according to the same report the prosecution will continue investigating this case until the period when the assassination attempt against the former PM occurred (in the winter of 2008).

Not surprisingly the prosecution is also linking the tragic events of the historic "December riots" (which occurred in the same year) with the above major investigation. This was quite a relief to us here at HellasFrappe since we have believed from day one that the December riots were staged to destabilize Greece politically, economically and socially.

Prosecutor N.Ornerakis is already convinced (and has enough evidence) to prove that there was an organized murder attempt against Mr. Karamanlis. The evidence he has massed is based on intelligence from the Hellenic Intelligence Agency as well as data from Russian intelligence services.

So who, what (and why) is/are behind these two cases which are now set to become the biggest scandal to have every rocked this country?

The who, according to the reports are intelligence agents, and as to the why... Well begin looking at what happened after the Karamanlis government got toppled and you will begin putting the pieces of this puzzle together. But to give you a jump start, the wire-tapping case is narrowing in on several suspects (or US agents) and that these individuals have already been identified. In fact international arrest warrants might soon be issued for their arrest. As for the attempted assassination attempt, there is strong evidence showing that yet another intelligence agency is involved which is very US friendly. No further details by defencenet were given.

Clearly, if there are reports that the prosecution already has identified who and what is behind these tragic events then it has extremely strong evidence in its hands. The only reason we mention this is because until now those suspected of being involved during that tragic period were merely suspected of being involved, but circumstantial evidence and solid evidence are two different things. By revealing that the wire-tapping continued well into 2007 (something that was not known until today), as well as noting that intelligence agents were conducting this illegal phone-tapping (something that was suspected but could not 100 percent be proven), then the Greek prosecution definitely has the evidence it needs to prove it.

Something else that is quite interesting is a leak that was published by defencenet and which claims that -aside from intelligence information- there are also serious and substantial testimonies from witnesses that literally link the wire-tapping case with the assassination attempt against Karamanlis.

One of these testimonies is from the former Head of the National Intelligence Agency (as well as ex-MP of the LAOS party) John Korantis. According to defencenet he mentioned the name of Alex Rondos. This is the same name which was also mentioned by the Russian secret service (FSB) who had at the time claimed that he was the man who knew that there was a conspiracy to organize the murder of Costas Karamanlis!

(Just a reminder here, as well as another piece to the puzzle, Alex Rondos was a key adviser -and extremely close associate- to George Papandreou).

Another leak that is quite interesting, and unknown until today, concerns the details behind one of the assassination attempts against the former PM. According to the same report, a bomb was detonated by remote control on Alexandras Avenue. Some time later (exact period not indicated) a terrorist organization by the name of the "People's Will" claimed responsibility. Shockingly, the aforementioned organization had already been signalled out by Russian intelligence officials who claimed they were being "controlled" by Western intelligence agencies.

And after all this INCREDIBLE information we only have one word to say here at HellasFrappe - FINALLY!!!!

Editor's Note - The very first article on this blog was dedicated to Karamanlis and for well over two years now we have continued to maintain that his government fell victim to a satanic plot that aimed at destabilizing our country socially, politically and especially economically. We are very pleased that the Greek justice system is finally doing its job, and we pray that they take this till the end. We nonetheless are still getting the heebie jeebies with all this incredible information.

Please read the stories below for more details, as well as to reference the wire-tapping case, and find out who Mr. Rontos is.

Russian Court Bans "How to Accept Islam" Book

A court in south Russia banned as “extremist” a book entitled “How to Accept Islam,” officials said on Tuesday. The Krasnoyarsk district court ordered all copies of the book to be confiscated and destroyed.

Investigators, citing linguistic experts, said the book, by Muhammad Suleiman Ashkara, encouraged religious hatred. The court added that the book was discovered during a May 2011 raid at the Krasnoyarsk home of a man suspected of links to an extremist Islamic organization.

The book had not, however, been added to the Justice Ministry’s extensive list of extremist materials as of Tuesday afternoon.

Russia's laws aimed at countering extremism were originally passed in 2002 and later amended in 2007. Originally introduced in a bid to curb promotion of nationalism and religious and sectarian hatred by fringe political groups, critics say the laws are often misused to put pressure on religious minorities or those who criticize the establishment.

Earlier this year, and specifically on February 6, a Kaliningrad court banned 16 works by Turkish scholar Said Nursi as extremist as well. A forensic "psychological-linguistic" examination determined that 14 books and two brochures with excerpts from the Risale-i Nur, a 6,000-plus-page collection about the Koran, written by Nursi serve to incite religious hatred and jeopardize the religious freedom of people who do not worship Islam.

The copies of the works by the 20-century Muslim theologian were discovered in an apartment in Kaliningrad. Russian news agencies say that the theologian is now suspected of organizing an extremist organization.

In its ruling, the court cited a 2008 Supreme Court ban on an extremist group called Nurjular (spelled Nurcular in Turkish), which used the works as a basis for its ideology. The banned works are now included in the Russian Justice Ministry's national register of extremist materials.

Hellenic Air Force Pilots - First In NATO Against Americans, British, Italians, etc.

There are still some things left standing in this country which quite simply make us proud to be Greek, and certainly this is the the men and women who serve in the Hellenic Armed Services. Our soldiers triumphed once again, and this time it was the pilots of the Hellenic Air Force who participated in the recent 2nd Air Training Series for 2013, or the Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP), at the Albacete Air Force Base in Spain in March.

According to defencenet the 331 Squadron of 114 Combat Wing (CW) from Tanagra Air Base participated in the training series with 4 Mirage 2000-5 and marked excellent results.
  • -Captain Theocharis Katsaros, was voted as the best student of the series (or "course warrior")! (Wow)
  • - First lieutenant John Sianos, tied in second place with other participants.
  • - And Squadron leader Marinos Bogatinis, who is positioned at the TLP as an official instructor, was voted -for the third time- as the best instructor.
Other participants from the Greek delegation included an officer of the 331st Intelligence Squadron, a controller from the 380th Air Defense Squadron Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW & M) and two "External Fighters".

To support the program, and the missions, there was participation from 4 MiG-29 from Poland, 2 Alphajet from France, helicopters, aircraft electronic warfare and AWACS.

The Tactical Leadership Programme (TLP) has been based at the Albacete Air Force Base in Spain since July 2009, and is staffed by experienced personnel from the ten NATO member nations: Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, UK, and USA.

BoG chief: Deposits in Greece Are Totally Secure (VIDEO Interview NET)

Bank deposits in Greece are secure, central Bank of Greece (BoG) governor George Provopoulos assured early Tuesday, speaking on a late night programme on state NET television.
"In no instance will the solution (of a haircut of deposits) that was selected for Cyprus be implemented in Greece," he said, adding that even in the event of shortfalls in the Greek program, these would be made up for by a reduction in expenditures and rationalization of the public sector, and not with a haircut of deposits.
He explained that the Greek banks have already absorbed the 50 billion euros foreseen in the Memorandum for their recapitalization, and consequently their capital base has been substantially boosted. Their position was further boosted by the repatriation of deposits from abroad.amna

Indeed, he said, more than 19 billion euros in deposits had returned to Greece between June 2012 and mid-March.

On the timetable for the banks' recapitalization, Provopoulos said that the deadline set by the European Commission (EC), European Central Bank (ECB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Troika of Greece's lenders for completion of the recapitalization process by end-April was "not realistic", and anticipated that the systemic banks will have completed the relevant procedures by end-May, adding that Greece could extend the deadline by a month.

He confirmed that the Troika has expressed reservations over the planned merger of National Bank of Greece (NBG) and Eurobank, but predicted that the merger would take place and that the relevant process will not be reversed. Provopoulos said that the word 'veto' does not describe the Troika's stance on this specific merger, explaining that whatever reservations arise from the large size the new bank (after the merger) would have, as well from the large share (approximately 40 percent) of the Greek market the new bank would have.

As for the repercussions of the crisis in Cyprus on the Greek economy, Provopoulos anticipated that there would be a further, but minor, reduction in GDP.

He said the recession in the Greek economy this year would approach 4.5 percent (against an initial forecast of 4.0-4.5 percent), explaining that the impact of the developments in Cyprus on the Greek GDP would be about 0.35 percent.

Provopoulos once again reiterated that the structural changes and restructure of the public sector need to proceed, and opposed the imposition of additional taxes, while indirectly, but clearly, favored continuation this year of the collection of the extraordinary surtax on real estate (EETHDE) via PPC electricity bills.

The central bank chief further stressed that the danger of Greece's exiting the euro has been distanced, but without this meaning that it has totally eclipsed. He also declined to predict when Greece would be able to return to the international markets. (AMNA, NET)

362.3mln Euros Cash Surplus -For First Time- By Municipalities All Over Greece

Then greek minister of Education, Evripidis St...
The Troika might be shoving harsh austerity down our throats here in Greece, but it looks like some of these measures have helped Greek municipalities record a significant surplus in just the first two months of the present year, in contrast to the past when corruption, over spending and mishandling of funds were the A and Z of local politics. According to reports, the integrated local administration budget presented a cash surplus of 362.3 million Euros in the first two months of 2013. Interior Minister Evripidis Stylianidis stated on Monday that "the counterbalancing of public spending, the introduced spending cuts, and the increase in municipal revenues from sources other than state coffers created a surplus of 362.3 million Euros in the first two months of 2013, further reinforcing the economic independence of Local Administration Organizations (OTA)."

He said that the surplus in February 2013 reached 180.1 million Euros, while a satisfactory collection of revenues and spending cuts implemented in compliance with the 2013-2016 Medium-Term Fiscal Strategy, are continuing.
"The new reality created in local administration on a daily basis as a result of systematic work and cooperation lays the foundations for a new model, free from past dependencies. This is going to give a greater economic and administrative independence to municipalities and regions".
The surplus recorded was the result of increased revenues from municipal taxes and fees - given that state budget subsidies have been considerably reduced (12 pct) compared with the first two months of 2012 - and a 13 pct reduction in spending compared with the same period in 2012.

Omirou: If Cyprus Remains Bound By The Troika, There Will Be No Future

“If we remain bound by the Troika and the memorandum Cyprus’ destiny is already foretold and there will be no future”.
There is no other alternative but to free Cyprus from the bonds of the troika and the memorandum, House of Representatives President Yiannakis Omirou has said.

Omirou also expressed his conviction that no Attorney General would dream of not following through with the results of an investigation led by an independent committee to apportion blame on those responsible for bringing the country’s economy and banking sector near collapse.

Omirou talked about the troika demands, which according to him will multiply and will turn Cyprus to a colony of the worst possible type and warned “I would like to send a message to the Cyprus people that there is no other way, there is no alternative apart from freeing (the country) from the troika’s and the memorandum’s bonds”.

He noted that certainly, “this road will demand sacrifices”, adding that “by leaving the troika and the EMS behind us, we will ensure our national independence, our national sovereignty, our moral integrity and our economic independence”.
“If we remain bound by the Troika and the memorandum Cyprus’ destiny is already foretold and there will be no future”, he pointed out. - (KYPE)

Scandal Hits Cyprus

EPP Congress Bonn
Grand theft is official Cypriot policy. Bank account haircuts are authorized. Those above 100,000 euros are targeted. Depositors may lose much more than initially thought. Minimally it's around 40% of their money. It may be double that amount or more. Potentially it's everything.

by Stephen Lendman

In return, they'll get unsecured IOUs (promises to pay). They'll be converted to bank shares. They may end up worthless. Small depositors aren't safe. If enough money isn't raised, they're vulnerable. Once thought safe bank accounts are being looted. It gets worse.

Friends of President Nicos Anastasiades got advance word. Cypriot newspaper Haravgi said A. Loutsios & Sons Ltd wired 21 million euros to London. It did so on March 12 and 13. It was days before capital controls were imposed. Loutsios & Sons is co-owned by the husband of Anastasiades' daughter. The company denied Haravgi's report. Anastasiades said it "attempt(ed) to defame companies or people linked to my family."
It's "nothing but an attempt to distract people from the liability of those who led the country to a state of bankruptcy."
On March 22, London's Daily Mail headlined "Cypriot president 'warned his friends to move money abroad' before financial crisis hit: Leader under fire as he faces just FOUR DAYS to save country from collapse."
"Cypriot president Nikos Anastasiades 'warned' close friends of the financial crisis about to engulf his country so they could move their money abroad, it was claimed on Friday."
"The respected Cypriot newspaper Filelftheros made the allegation which was picked up eagerly by German media."
"The Cyprus newspaper did not say how much money was moved abroad but quoted sources saying the president 'knew about the possible closure of the banks' and tipped off close friends who were able to move vast sums abroad."
"Italian media said the 4.5 billion euros left the island in the week before the crisis."
On March 25, Reuters headlined "INSIGHT - Money fled Cyprus as president fumbled bailout," saying:
"….(L)arge amounts of euros fled (Cyprus) before and after Cypriot lawmakers stunned Europe by rejecting a levy on all bank deposits."
"No one knows exactly how much money has left Cyprus' banks, or where it has gone." Minimally it was many millions. Perhaps it was much more. Insiders got advance word. They took full advantage. Others weren't as lucky.
On March 31, AFP said Cypriot politicians "had loans written off by the island's three biggest banks, two of them at the heart of the financial meltdown."
"Lawmaker Mavrides, meanwhile, confirmed that a committee appointed by President Nicos Anastasiades would investigate a list published by Greek media of Cypriot politicians who allegedly had loans forgiven."
"The Bank of Cyprus, Laiki and Hellenic Bank reportedly forgave millions of euros in loans over the past five years to lawmakers, companies and local company authorities, newspapers in Greece said."
"The allegations would likely be discussed in parliament next week, Mavrides added."
Expect more whitewash and coverup than revelations. What's reported is likely true. Politicians often get special favors. Advance word let privileged insiders shift money offshore. They did so in time.

On March 31, the Financial Times headlined "Scramble to find Cypriot cash escape route," saying:

The hunt's on. In recent weeks, at least three people tried fleeing "with more than 200,000 euros in cash on their person." They were caught. Funds were confiscated. Limassol police stepped up security. At issue is stopping people trying to get funds offshore by boat.

Unidentified Cypriots called Russian businessman Sergei Tyulenev. They did so the day capital controls were imposed. They offered help to shift more than one million euros from Laiki Bank to Hellenic Bank. It's relatively safer. He explained a catch. He'd have to pay 200,000 euros up front. He refused. Eurocrats raised concerns. Politically connected depositors moved cash out in time. Others got funds out after banks closed.

An unidentified Eurocrat said:
"There are some dubious capital outflows out of Cyprus as we speak. I'm sure it's 'the friends,' and the friends are not only Russians."
Before crisis erupted, many foreign depositors exited. They smelled trouble. They moved funds offshore in time. The handwriting's been on the wall for months.

In February alone, about 18% of Cypriot deposits moved to other Eurozone countries. Central Bank of Cyprus figures confirm it. Since last June, Cypriot deposits fell 41%. Hours before capital controls were imposed, large sums exited Laiki Bank and Bank of Cyprus.

On March 31, The New York Times headlined "As Banks in Cyprus Falter, Other Tax Havens Step In," saying:
"(F)inancial centers across Europe and beyond are promoting their own skills at keeping money hidden and safe."
A Malta law firm said:
"We are aware of the economic problems facing Cyprus at the moment. We would like to propose an avenue of action for your consideration: offering corporate relocation to Malta."
Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands, Dubai, Singapore, and other tax havens made similar offers.

Swiss-based Gonthier Group emailed Cypriot firms working with foreigners. It suggested they offer clients an investment "vehicle which is extremely low-profile, not classified as a bank account or trust and thus very much under the radar of national fiscal authorities."

Turkey controls northern Cyprus. It's promoting its own banks. It does so as a safer alternative.

Nicholas Papadopoulos heads parliament's finance and budgetary affairs committee. "We are being thrown to the wolves, and now the wolves have responded," he said. Limassol lawyer Andreas Marangos said Cypriot banking "is finished." At stake is the island's main industry and tens of thousands of jobs. Expect unemployment to soar.

Protracted Depression looks certain. An entire economy is being destroyed. Cypriot economics Nobel laureate Christopher Pissarides is right saying when the IMF gets involved, there's always blood on the ground.

On March 31, Cyprus Mail accused President Anastasiades of failing "to introduce an honest, reality-based, political discourse." He said what people wanted to hear. He sounded like his predecessor. He's not up to the challenge. He panders to privileged Cypriots. He offers false hopes and breaks promises. He hasn't prepared Cypriots for hard times.

They "need to know they have a leader who is aware of the crushing difficulties we face, but he has a plan to help the country get back on its feet eventually." He's got none. Cyprus' future remains hugely challenged. For most Cypriots, it's bleak.

Today Cyprus. Tomorrow Euroland. FT's Wolfgang Munchau says "Economics will catch up with the euro."
"(A)t what point (is it) economically rational for a country to leave the eurozone?" It's an "imperfect banking union." Public and private sector debts are unsustainable in troubled countries.
They're better off going it alone. Insured depositors in Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greece aren't safe. For sure, Cypriot ones aren't.

Spain looks next up for a bail-in. Its banking system is broke. It faces protracted Depression.
It's "logically irrational for any Spanish saver to keep even small amounts of savings in the Spanish banking system. There is no way that the Spanish state can guarantee the system without defaulting itself."
Spain's best chance is exiting the Eurozone. The same goes for Greece, Italy and Portugal. Economics may not be the main driver.
"Politics may trump economics." Longterm, "you cannot operate a monetary union in the face of economic logic."
One size fits all Eurozone rules don't work. Imposing them reflects financial tyranny. Surrendering monetary and fiscal control assures trouble.

Cyprus' virus is spreading. Ordinary people will be harmed most. Insured savings aren't safe. Euroland looks most vulnerable. Take the money and run is policy. Depositor haircuts are authorized.

Canada did the same thing.

It's a short leap to America.

They're coming.

Expect them.
