The ruling New Democracy (ND) party may lead by a marginal 0.5 over the main opposition leftist party SYRIZA, but believe it or not the Golden Dawn party is still in third place. According to one opinion poll conducted by GPO for MEGA channel TV, and presented on the Anatropi show (photo above) late on Monday night, ND leads with 21 percent, followed by SYRIZA with 20.5 percent, the far-right Golden Dawn party scored 7.8 percent, PASOK and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) were said to both be at 6 percent, the Independent Greeks party recorded 4.5 percent. The most suitable candidate for prime minister remains Prime Minister Antonis Samaras (and ND leader), or was preferred by 44.4 percent of the respondents, followed by SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras with 30.4 percent, while 23.7 percent of said none of above.
Regarding the recent development on Golden Dawn, 76.6 percent said that the arrest of Golden Dawn's leaders was right and a whopping 72.1 percent of the respondents believe that Golden Dawn is a threat for the democracy, or so this particular opinion poll said. If we take this opinion poll into consideration then the other polls that were presented on several other channels late on Monday should also be taken just as seriously and they differ greatly from the above poll.
In another opinion poll conducted by MRB for the STAR Channel (photo above) and specifically for the "enikos.gr" website, ND was leading with 21.8 percent, followed by SYRIZA with 21.2 percent, ultra-right Golden Dawn had 6.9 percent, PASOK had 5.2 percent the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) only had 5 percent. The Independent Greeks party scored 4.8 percent and Democratic Left (DIMAR) party barely touched the 3.6 percent mark. In response to who would be most suitable for prime minister, Samaras was preferred by 36.6 percent, followed by Alexis Tsipras with 25.1 percent and an astonishing 34.8 of the respondents said none of the above. The above two polls were conducted by two of Greece's leading mainstream television channels, however, on the alternative television Extra Channel, and specifically on the Kitrinos Typos news show with host Makis Triantafyllopoulos (view video below) the results were slightly different. This poll was conducted online by the zoogla.gr news site and check out the results in the two photos below. The New Democracy party received 19.3 percent, SYRIZA scored 19.1 percent and the Golden Dawn party received 14.9 percent!
Obviously, these numbers differ greatly than the ones presented by the two mainstream news channels. (View more analytically in the video below).
Interestingly, if one studies both polls conducted by MEGA and STAR channel they will notice that despite the barrage of disinformation about the Golden Dawn party, most respondents disagree with the arrest of its leadership and/or its members and are in doubt about the information that has been presented against Golden Dawn, or basically the establishment's insistence to present this party as a criminal organization with penniless evidence. This can also be noted in the poll that was conducted on zoogla.gr where a whopping 51 percent of respondents (photo below) said that the arrests clearly are of a political nature.
Much to the surprise of MEGA channel, and especially to the host of the Anatropi show who has been an active voice against the GD party, and to the other reporter on STAR channel who is in competition with MEGA channel, the MRB poll also showed that 63.5% of respondents consider that the persecution of Golden Dawn was staged so as to distract people from Greece's economic problems, while 50.7% said that they arrests were made because the establishment feared GD's popularity in the polls. Furthermore, 20% of respondents said they disagreed with the arrests while 31.1% consider Golden Dawn like any other party, with the difference being that they have extreme ideals.
If one studies the results even further it is evident that the party that was hardest hit -after the arrests were made- was and is PASOK and its party leader Evangelos Venizelos -who clearly does not and can not register well with the people of Greece-. In fact for the first time in well over four decades, and after all the evil it has conducted against this country, PASOK is finally crumbling and we here at HellasFrappe believe that it will be very difficult for this party to ever make a comeback (Thank the Heavens for that!).
