Canadian Green Party Leader in Halkidiki To Visit Skouries Mine

The leader of Canada’s Green Party, Elizabeth May, would visit the premises of a controversial mining project run by Hellas Gold in Halkidiki in Northern Greece on Wednesday at the invitation of the Ecologist Greens. The mine is owned by the Vancouver-based Eldorado Gold Corporation, and located near the village of Skouries.

The Ecologist Greens have expressed concerns about the environmental repercussions of the mining project, which has divided locals.
