Aegean Airlines is inaugurating Crete-Constantinople flights in June and plans to also introduce Athens-Cairo flights this coming October. In an announcement, the airlines said this week that the Crete-Constantinople route will be conducted on Thursdays and Sundays from the Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport in Heraklio. It also said that the first 3,000 tickets for the flight will be offered to travellers wishing to visit Turkey for a mere 59 Euros (taxes included).

On October 3, Aegean is planning to also introduce direct flights from the Eleftherios Venizelos Athens International airport to Cairo International Airport every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. This route will be conducted with an A320 Airbus carrier with an 168-seat capacity.
