Meeting With Troika On "Red Loans"

The new arrangements to apply for over-indebted households' loans were the focus of a meeting between the Development ministry leadership and the troika experts recently. Ministry officials apparently maintain that slow but steady steps are being made toward an agreement, as the non-serviced loans is a crucial matter to both the recapitalisation of Greece's banks as well as the economy overall.

Negotiations between both sides are still continuing to achieve progress with a relevant draft bill.

Officials believe that even though there hasn't been an agreement so far, the Greek government is pressing on the troika to urgently address the specific issue, given that "red loans" are constantly on the rise amidst the current tough austerity conditions.
