Following Warning Call, Police Find Bag With Explosives

The Greek countertarrorism squad on Monday discovered a small backpack containing explosives that were not wired or set to be detonated in a courtyard in Athens.

More exactly, a little after 09:30 am an unknown caller telephoned the "Eleftherotypia" newspaper and said that there were bombs planted near the tax offices in Psychiko, at a car dealership on Mesogeion avenue, in the courtyard of state owned ERT television and at a building of OTE on Marathon Avenue (Petrogianni stop). The caller then said that the police had until 11:00 am to discover the explosives.

Officials rushed to the areas but following an extensive investigation only a backpack was discovered that contained a small amount of explosives.
