Albania, Bulgaria Offer Greek Professors Careers, Huge Salaries, etc.

"Oh the times they are a changing..."

The Albanian and Bulgarian media recently began publishing an ad campaign claiming that their universities were in dire need of Greek professors. In order to lure the candidates, various universities in these countries are now offering handsome salaries to the likely candidates and promise to cover all their expenses - including food, transportation and accommodation!

(Talk about the deal of the century!)

The Kathimerini newspaper recently said in a report that a good number of Greek professors have already moved to countries such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Obviously this group did not travel to this part of lower Asia in order to teach, but rather decided to make this career change for the tantalizing and whopping BIG salaries offered there. Certainly no one expected Albania and Bulgaria to begin offering Greek professors careers, since several years ago these very nations were considered developing economies and most of their citizens lived in Greece!

Nonetheless, there are seven private colleges in neighboring Albania which follow a European or American program and cooperate with several universities abroad.
