Last Poll Results Before May 6, 2012 Elections


Who will emerge as the governing party at the upcoming elections?  According to a series of poll results from VPRC, RASS, ALCO and Kapa-Research, that were published today, it doesn't look like the two leading parties will gain a majority government. Poll results will be banned as of tomorrow and not published until the May 6, 2012 election date so that voters can have a more objective opinion on who to vote for.

VPRC - According to today's VPRC opinion poll New Democracy will keep a 7.5 points lead over the ruling PASOK party and win the elections with 22 percent, while PASOK will not surpass the 14.5 percent mark. The same poll expects the Coalition of the left or SYRIZA to enter gain 13 percent of the total vote, the Communist party of Greece (KKE) 11.5 percent, the Democratic Left Party 10 percent and they predict that the Independent Hellenes Movement of Panos Kammenos will easily get nine percent. They also claim that Golden Dawn will receive 5 percent and George Kolotoumbas Karatzaferis' party LA.OS will receive 3.5 percent.

RASS - In a separate poll from RASS New Democracy is seen as receiving 24.1 percent, PASOK 17.1 percent, followed by SYRIZA with 10.3 percent, the Independent Hellenes Movement with 9.4 percent, KKE with 8.7 percent and the Democratic Left with 8.4 percent. The Golden Dawn party (or Chrysi Avgi) is expected to gain 4.3 percent, the Ecologists Green Party 3.8 percent, and it forecasts that the LA.OS and Democratic Alliance party will get 3.4 and 3.2 percent, respectively. They also see that Stephanos Manos' Action Party will not gain more than 2.2 percent and ANTARSIA will not surpass the 1.3 percent mark.

ALCO - In yet another poll, ALCO sees the New Democracy party as only gaining 18.5 percent, followed by PASOK with 13.3 percent, the Independent Hellenes Movement with 8.3 percent, SYRIZA with 7.9 percent, KKE with 7 percent, the Democratic Left Party with 6.6 percent, the Golden Dawn Party with 3.9 percent. It also notes that the LA.OS party will barely make it to Parliament and does not see them surpass the 3 percent mark, while it notes that the Ecologists-Green Party and Dora Mbakogiannis's Democratic Alliance will not gain more than 2.7 percent and 2.3 percent, respectively.

KAPPA RESEARCH - Finally, Kapa-Research said that in the next elections New Democracy will receive at least 25.5 percent, PASOK 19.1 percent, KKE will get 10.6 percent and SYRIZA will gain 9.1 percent. It also notes that the Independent Hellenes Movement will receive 7.7 percent, the Democratic Left 5.4 percent,  Golden Dawn 5.2 percent, the LA.OS party 4 percent, the Democratic Alliance 3.8 percent, the Ecologists Green Party 3.6 percent and 1.7 percent will be gained by the Action party.
