Turkish Warship Violates Greek Territorial Waters

The Defence Ministry announced that the Turkish corvette F-502 TCG "BANDIRMA", sailing from the eastern Mediterranean near Cyprus' "Plot 12", on Sunday evening at 20:15hrs viiolated Greek territorial waters initially sailing between the islands of Mylos and Folegandros, and then went north passing by the islands of Sifnou and Anti-Paros and reached near the Attiki coast at 01:15hrs on January 30. Monitoring the ship's movements, the Hellenic Navy then reported that the Turkish warship sailed between the islands of Mykonos and Tinos and then sailed off to the port of Smyrna.

The message was clear. Several hours earlier Turkish Foreign Minister A. Davutoglu said: "The Mediterranean and Aegean are a single area of operations."
