There is no snow in Athens and from what it looks like there won't be any snow for the holidays either. Not to worry, if it is snow you seek and if you get stuck in Athens this weekend and feel like doing something crazy like skiing, then consider the Parnassos ski resort which is officially opening its doors to the public on Saturday December 17, 2011. There still might not be enough snow on the mountain but the resort announced that one ski trail will be in operation with the aid of snowtraps, and
four others will be ready to open when and if the snow quality allows
it. And if you don't know how to ski or do not want to attempt it, then just visit the area and take a ride on the ski lifts to admire the spectacular view of Mt. Parnassos, or relax at the chalet and breath in the winter environment since its the perfect place to relax and unwind and get in tune with the holiday season.
